I’ve never heard of setting a path before for email, so apologies if this is a simple solution to those who come across this in the future.

mailbox not updating on IMAP

All messages that were trashed in Outlook still appear in All Mail when accessed using webmail, even days later. With that said - the "delayed syncing" issue that I am experiencing is happening on Inbox as well as Junk folders. So my Junk folders do not have that box checked, but the Inbox doesn't have a box to be be checked - their behavior is the same they are both not syncing, until I manually click on them to force the sync. I have half dozen mail accounts a few microsoft a gamil and some other ones and there is no difference they are all acting the same. In this article, I have explained various ways to solve IMAP folders are not syncing.

Why IMAP Folder is Not Properly Syncing?

Look at the mail server settings boxes for password and port settings they’re the ones you need to delete and reapply. I will try the safe starts and experiment with the buttons ans see if it improves. I am using TB for just three weeks now and I have issues daily when sending FixTechGuide email error solutions mail with no attachments the outgoing mail server will time out. I work in a small company and for the past 2 weeks we've been having issues with customer support Outlook account. The account is used as IMAP in all customer support clients, every time you set up the mail in anyones computer credential loop in Microsoft 365 it just sync 30-50GB ost files... And because of the size, this is making the mail simply stop working after one day of normal use, forcing the users to end outlook process to make the mail sync again properly... But only when you close/open the mail again.

IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)

Microsoft Outlook is terrible in IMAP. Hence most people only use MAPI with it. If you are forced to use IMAP, I would recommend switching to an alternative E-Mail client like Thunderbird Thunderbird — Free Your Inbox.

  • Meanwhile, the "connecting" or "Checking for mail..." just stays on the bottom status bar of the mail app.
  • If the proxy directs requests to a newer IMAP server implementation (f.i Cyrus imapd 3.6.1), the iOS 18 Mail app works as expected, even the requests are handled by the same IMAP server proxy.
  • I will try the safe starts and experiment with the buttons ans see if it improves.
  • I deleted the Apple Mail app from the phone, reinstalled from the App Store.
  • After instalation ios 18 all my accounts in mail app stopped to sync( including icloud mail).
  • It's usually not checked by default for IMAP to minimize network traffic.

My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update

It's not until I click on that folder I will then see the 10 and 3 and two second later it will sync and new ones will populate. The issue is; just looking at my email accounts and the numbers shown next to the folders I cant rebuild Outlook data file quickly tell if there is new mail or not until I click on them. I have all desktop alerts turned off I prefer it this way I don't need all of that. I just want to be able to look and see new message. Even if I have an account with zero message I need to click to see the new ones there are no numbers appear.
